How to Go to Ureshino Town by Train and Car

Ureshino is easily accessible by train or car from Hakata or Tenjin in Fukuoka, and can be easily enjoyed from major cities in Kyushu.

This guide introduces how to get to Ureshino from Hakata by train and by car.

By Train:

If you are going by train, the route from JR Hakata Station is recommended.

First, take the Limited Express Relay Kamome train to JR Takeo Onsen Station. The trip takes about 1 hour.

There, change to the Northwest Kyushu Shinkansen to Ureshino Onsen Station. The time required here is about 7 minutes

All together, the trip will take approximately 1 hour and 7 minutes.

By Car:

If you are going by car, there are two ways to get there: by expressway from Hakata Station or by ordinary roads.

First, when using the expressway, the route via Saga City is recommended.

Take the urban expressway from the Handobashi IC and continue on the Kyushu Expressway. 

Next, take the Tosu JCT junction toward Nagasaki, go straight through Takeo JCT, and get off at Ureshino IC to reach Ureshino Onsen.

The time required here is about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

When going to Ureshino Onsen by ordinary road, the route through Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture is recommended.

From Hakata Station toward Itoshima City, you can use a section of the Kitakyushu Expressway

From Imari City, proceed toward Arita Town, and from there through Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, to reach Ureshino Onsen.

It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes, so be sure to take frequent breaks while driving.
